Vietnam - ICT Type Approval

As a manufacturer or importer of ‘Information and Communications Technology (ICT)’ products, you must undergo the ICT testing and approval process and be registered with the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) to access the Vietnamese market. Testing must be done in local designated laboratories or in recognized laboratories of partner countries (listed on MIC Vietnam website). To bear the ICT mark and be sold in the Vietnamese market, the products have to follow the EMC, Safety and Radio requirements of Vietnamese National Technical Regulations specified in Circular 04/2023​​​​/TT-BTTTT. Various categories of ICT products are listed in this circular with details on applicable standards and HS codes for each product category. Most of Vietnamese ICT standards are based on international standards, but the permitted operation frequencies and transmit power levels are prescribed by the MIC. There are two groups of products for ICT approval: products subject to certification and ‘Declaration of Conformity’, and products subject to ‘Declaration of Conformity’ only.
