Uganda PVOC (Pre-Export Verification of Conformity)
Successful exports to Uganda with services according to UNBS guidelines
In order to ensure consumers safe and quality products as well as have an official conformity policy in line with other member states of the East African Community, the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) established its Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) program in June of 2013.
Each shipment of any regulated product is obliged to follow corresponding routes to certification. More than one designated route may affect a single shipment and are broken down as such:
- Route A – Testing and inspection
- Route B – Registration
- Route C – Licensing
- Route D – Groupage of cargo -> registered consolidators
Services are individually selected and conducted according to route(s) applying to your regulated products and may include:
- Document review
- Testing if required
- Consignment inspection
- Container sealing if required
- Certification of shipment
After submitting an application request for PVoC services, completing all requirements and achieving the Certificate of Conformity for your shipment of regulated goods, UNBS inspectors will verify the consignment and allow for the release of your products into the Ugandan market.
