The Central Bank of Libya issued Resolution N° 96 on April 30, 2015, establishing the requirement of a 'Certificate of Inspection' for all goods imported into Libya. Therefore, all exporters need an inspection certificate before exporting to Libya as per legal requirements, for example, in accordance with 'Letters of Credit'. The validity of the Certificate of Inspection (CoI) is 90 days from its date of issue.

Product Scope

There is no defined product scope for the program in Libya, rather the ‘Letter of Credit’- system requires a ‘Certificate of Inspection’ for all consignments of imported goods.
