The Ministry of Manpower (MoM) in Singapore allows only an Inspection Body accredited to “ISO/ IEC 17020 for design verification and new construction/ fabrication inspection of Pressure Vessels". TÜV Rheinland’s Inspection Body examines on behalf of MoM the vessels fabricated overseas under the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health Act and issues the fabrication survey report, if the Pressure Vessel fabricated and tested according to the accepted Pressure Vessel codes or standards. Valid as long as regular inspections for Pressure Vessels are performed. Their intervalls vary between one and ten years, depending on the type of vessel. |
Product Scope
This act applies to the design, manufacture and conformity assessment of pressure equipment and assemblies. The following pressure equipment are excluded from the inspection by an authorized agency:
Steam boilers
- which use electricity as the only form of power;
- which have a maximum steam volume below 40 liters and a safe working pressure under 4 bars; and into which water is fed manually at the start of the steam generation process and cannot be fed continuously from a potable water main.
Steam receivers, air receivers, pressure receivers or refrigerating plants where the safe working pressure does not exceed 0.5 bar and volume is below 100 bar-liter.
