Singapore - IMDA Telecom Approval

Singapore IMDA telecom approval for your products with our support

The 'Infocomm Media Development Authority' (IMDA) of Singapore aims to identify and facilitate the adoption of information and communication technologies (ICT) to drive economic growth in Singapore. IMDA policies and regulations are in place to protect both consumers and businesses. Telecommunication equipment has to be registered by IMDA, based on a 'Suppliers Declaration of Conformity (SDoC)' to IMDA standards. The following five equipment registration groups are available for supplies to choose from:

  • 'Enhanced Simplified Equipment Registration (ESER)' for short-range or low power devices like those using WLAN or RFID technologies
  • Simplified Equipment Registration (SER) for e.g. 3G/LTE/GMPCS mobile phones
  • 'General Equipment Registration (GER)' for systems or devices the operation of which requires IMDA's approval, e.g. Mobile / IoT Base Station / Repeater Systems. Application is also optional for equipment categories that falls under ESER / SER scheme but subject to registration fees under GER scheme
  • 'General Equipment Registration by Certification Bodies (GER-CB)' is applicable only to authorized CB applicants under MRA Phase II for IMDA recognized Certification Bodies to register all types of equipment.
  • Application for 'Confirmation of Conformity (COFC)' is on voluntary basis for telecommunication equipment under which no approval for sale is required (equipment exempted from registration), e.g. Facsimile Transceiver.
