Canadian Registration Number according to CSA B51
Inspection activities in accordance with CSA B51
CSA B51-14 is the basis of all provincial boiler, pressure vessel, fittings, piping or pressure vessel laws in Canada. It defines the responsibility of the manufacturer or fabricator to submit technical documents for their product or fabrication to operate or to be placed into service in Canada respectively. This includes how to register a design, minimum requirements addressed in the calculations, drawings, proof testing of fittings, fabrication of piping and the quality system. All individual pressure parts used by manufacturers are required to obtain a Canadian Registration Number (CRN) before shipping to Canada, issued by a Canadian provincial government. Different rules for registration and certification may be valid in the individual province or territory.
