Australia & New Zealand - EMC

The Australian communications and Media Authority is the government regulator for Electromagnetic emissions, additional requirements also apply to radiocommunication devices and Telecommunication devices, see other scheme names​

In New Zealand, the Radio Spectrum Management is responsible www.rsm.govt.nz. The Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Arrangement applies to EMC regulation in Australia and New Zealand allowing a common set of technical standards and regulatory process.​

Product Scope

Australia :

All products excluding passive devices and components

- Electrical and electronic products
- Most common household products (for example, white goods, kitchen appliances and IT equipment)
- Some vehicles and products with internal combustion engines


New Zealand :

Every product that is interfering equipment, except wanted and unwanted emissions from a radio transmitter.
