Lighting Lab

The Lighting Laboratory is one of the flagship services of TÜV Rheinland InterCert Kft. since we have been providing safety and performance tests for luminaires and lamps for over 40 years. Our new, over 230m² modern laboratory, equipped with over 200 measuring instruments and built according to the latest standards, has become the leading Lighting Lab in Central Eastern Europe region and within TÜV Rheinland. We have a 25 meters long black room, which is the largest in the region, maybe in Europe, which is capable for automotive and for non-automotive testing as well.

We have capacity, experience, and expertise to perform almost all possible testing in lighting business. Our most valuable tool is a goniometer which can measure light intensity distribution. In the new laboratory we offer more advanced IP testing (ingress protection test of dust- and moisture).

In 2020 TÜV Rheinland InterCert Kft. relocated its offices and labs from two locations into a new facility. Now, we present a new state of the art laboratory and test facility with over 5000 m².

In the new Location, we maintain laboratories for Mechanical Products, Electrical Safety, Luminaires & Environmental Simulation as well as a special High Current & Short Circuit Lab for components and a Medical Device Laboratory

Our wide products testing scope allow us to handle lighting equipment testing and certification services projects for our clients from all over the world. We are providing safety and performance test for lamps and luminaires, photobiological test for lamps, luminaires and other equipment and IP, IK test for luminaires. We are able to provide either product- or type certification. The type certification can only be issued if we are able supervise the manufacturing process for a longer period, while the product certification can be issued by the basis of testing the sample product(s).
