Procedure for the ISO 22000 Certification

1. Pre-audit (optional)
Pre-audits provide optimal preparation for the subsequent certification audit according to ISO 22000. Customers identify their strengths and weaknesses early on and can prepare themselves specifically for the ISO 22000 certification. The auditors perform a preliminary assessment. They determine if and which requirements of the standard have already been implemented in your company.

2. Certification audit
The audit team reviews the extent to which the documentation of your compliance management system already corresponds to the standard. You demonstrate the practical application of your management system. Our auditors examine the effectiveness.

3. Issuing the certificate
Once all criteria have been fulfilled, your company receives the ISO 22000 certificate which certifies the integrity and compliance of your management system. Furthermore your company will be included in our online certification database “ Certipedia ”.

4. Control audits
Our annual control audits help you to continuously optimize your processes.

5. Certification renewal
With a renewal of the certification before the expiration of three years, you permanently extend your continuous improvement process. For your partners and customers, you permanently document the successful deployment of your management system according to ISO 22000.

What are the contents of ISO 22000?

  • 2.System Management: ISO 22000 is a standard specifically for food safety. Process-oriented approaches from ISO 9001 as well as requirements from the HACCP principles are integrated according to Codex Alimentarius. ISO 22000 does not replace a general quality management system according to ISO 9001.
  • 3.Prevention programs: ISO 22000 provides the basic requirements and actions that are necessary for the production, processing and preparation of safe food. These conditions affect the infrastructure as well as the working environment.
  • 4.Supply chain: ISO 22000 covers the entire supply chain. All suppliers in any part of the supply chain are included such as packaging manufacturers.
  • 5.Validation, verification and updating: The focus of ISO 22000 is on planning, management and evaluation. All documentation and verification of food safety must always be present. Only then can a correct implementation of the measures, a targeted management and an evaluation of the effectiveness be ensured.
