The TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety & Cyber Security Training Program

The TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Training Program was founded in 2004 in cooperation with multinational enterprises. In the past 15 years this training program has supported engineers and technicians in gaining and extending their knowledge in Functional Safety according to the international relevant standards IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 and further application related standards.

In 2017 the new TÜV Rheinland Cyber Security Training Program has additionally been set up focusing on the topic Cyber Security for Industrial IT (industrial security / automation security). This training program follows the same concept as the Functional Safety training program. TÜV Rheinland cooperates here also with international companies and course providers whose service portfolio refers to “safety/security”.

The TÜV Rheinland FS & CySec Training Program is the only worldwide extended vocational training program in the area of Functional Safety & Cyber Security where knowledge and competencies are approved of by a third neutral party and where certificates are issued.

By now more than 30 international companies and their safety / security experts support this program. All trainers as well as the training and exam material are approved by TÜV Rheinland.

Since today more than 18,000 engineers have participated in the various training topics of the Functional Safety (FS) training program and have obtained the worldwide acknowledged FS Engineer (TÜV Rheinland) certificate.

Cyber Security (CySec) trainings referring to different target groups and topics have already been held in 2018 and thus participants are holders of the CySec Specialist (TÜV Rheinland) certificate.
