Functional Safety of mechanical, pneumatical and hydraulic actuators acc. to IEC 61508
This one-day workshop provides knowledge regarding the requirements of Functional Safety for actuators.
The standard's basics will be explained and an interpretation given of the relevant requirements deriving from the standard.
The calculation of safety-related parameter for actuators and their applicability will be discussed and explained by means of examples and exercises in detail.
Objective of this Workshop
- Transfer of normative requirements of IEC 61508 to actuators,
- Possible solutions for SIL classification of actuators.
This workshop is only available in English language as in-house workshop.

Component and product manufacturers, developers / designing engineers, plant designers, plant operators, quality managers and Functional Safety Managers.

Basic knowledge regarding test and development of hard- and software acc. to IEC 61508.

- Limitation of condition of use due to structural requirements of the system

- PL determination of hydraulic controls, i.e. from solenoid valve to hydraulic cylinder.
- Proof of PL according to EN 13849.
- Calculation of PL calculation for various individual circuits.

Registration and terms of participation
The attendance fee includes conference materials, refreshments and lunch. The registration is binding once confirmed by the organizer in writing. Invoices will be issued shortly before prior to the start of the event. Please note that, because of the limited number of participants, we will charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the attendance fee for any cancellation received later than two weeks before the beginning of the event. No part of the attendance fee will be refunded for cancellations received later than one week before the event. The event only takes place with a minimum number of 10 participants. If a workshop/training has to be cancelled for reasons for which TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH is responsible, only participation fees already paid will be refunded.
