Functional Safety of Actuators

Functional Safety of mechanical, pneumatical and hydraulic actuators acc. to IEC 61508

This one-day workshop provides knowledge regarding the requirements of Functional Safety for actuators.

The standard's basics will be explained and an interpretation given of the relevant requirements deriving from the standard.

The calculation of safety-related parameter for actuators and their applicability will be discussed and explained by means of examples and exercises in detail.

Objective of this Workshop

  • Transfer of normative requirements of IEC 61508 to actuators,
  • Possible solutions for SIL classification of actuators.

This workshop is only available in English language as in-house workshop.

Target Group

Component and product manufacturers, developers / designing engineers, plant designers, plant operators, quality managers and Functional Safety Managers.
