Validation¹ and verification² services

As an accredited validation and verification body, we provide the following services:

  • Verification of allocation applications and emissions reports for installations subject to the European Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) (accredited body according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17029:2020 with DIN EN ISO 14065:2022 and Regulations (EU) No. 2018/2067 and (EU) No. 2018/2066).
    • Evaluation of emissions reports in accordance with Section 15 of the Fuel Emissions Trading Act of 12.12.2019 (BEHG) in national fuel emissions trading in accordance with the Emissions Reporting Ordinance 2030 of 21.12.2022 (EBeV 2030)
  • Evaluation and confirmation of the information in accordance with Art. 26 of the Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases Regulation (2024/573), so-called F-Gas Regulation.
  • Verification of the product carbon footprint, calculated by the customer in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14067 and evaluated by us in accordance with ISO 14064-3
  • Verification of the corporate carbon footprint, calculated by the customer in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14064-1 and evaluated by us in accordance with ISO 14064-3
  • Validation and verification of climate change mitigation projects, to be accounted for by the client in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14064-2:2020 and evaluated by us in accordance with ISO 14064-3 and, where applicable, other standards, such as those from the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or International Carbon Registry (ICR).
  • Validation and verification of climate protection projects, to be balanced by the customer in accordance with the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS/Verra) and evaluated by us in accordance with ISO 14064-3 and VCS guidelines.
  • Verification services under the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/956 and implementing acts such as EU 2023/1773. Our services include the evaluation of methodologies for determining product-related GHG emissions (Annex IV), verification of emissions data in non-EU supply chains, review of GHG calculation models in industrial plants, and compliance check for the mandatory CBAM verification phase starting in 2026.

Certifications and expert opinions

In addition to validations and verifications, we offer the following services as a certified body and provider of expert assessments for environmental information:

  • Certification of sustainable hydrogen and derivatives, specifically:
    • Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) under CertifHy
    • Renewable and Low-Carbon Hydrogen Fuels according to
      TÜV Rheinland Standard H2.21 v2.1

  • Certification of sustainable biofuels
    • According to EU-recognized certification systems for biofuels, e.g. REDCert and ISCC, (registration process ongoing)
  • Evaluation of green energy sources, e.g. green declared electricity or emission-balanced natural gas
  • Execution of energy audits in accordance with Section 8 of the Energy Services Act (EDL-G), in accordance with DIN EN 16247-1
  • Execution of environmental assessments for the approval scope 35.11.6 Electricity generation from renewable energies (e.g. wind, biomass, solar and geothermal energy) with and without external procurement for distribution
  • Evaluation and certification of in-house calculation methods and accounting systems for life cycle assessments and product and corporate carbon footprints (LCA, PCFs and CCFs)
  • Certification of standard-compliant emission balances and calculations, also including CO2-offsetting measures
