USA - Significant New Use Rules on Certain Chemical Substances (26-4)

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing Significant New Use Rules (SNURs) under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) for certain chemical substances that are subject to premanufacture notices (PMNs) and EPA-issued TSCA orders. 

If finalized, the rules would require manufacturers, importers, and processors to notify EPA at least 90 days before engaging in any designated significant new use of these substances. 

EPA would then evaluate the proposed use, and the activity could not begin until the Agency completes its review, makes a determination, and any required regulatory actions are taken.
