USA - Safety Standard for Toys: Requirements for Water Beads
Under Section 106(a) of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), ASTM F963 is mandated as the toy safety standard, which includes requirements for water bead toys and toys containing water beads.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a new safety standard specifically for these products to enhance safety.
The rule will take effect on March 12, 2026, with certain referenced materials approved for use starting April 20, 2024.
