USA - Safety Standard for Soft Infant and Toddler Carriers

USA Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC or Commission) published a safety standard for soft infant and toddler carriers under section 104 of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA).

ASTM has now issued a revised standard, ASTM F2236-24. Consistent with the CPSIA, this direct final rule updates the mandatory standard to incorporate by reference ASTM's 2024 version of the voluntary standard.

The incorporation by reference of the ASTM F2236-24 standard is approved by the Director of the Federal Register, effective February 22, 2025 unless CPSC receives a significant adverse comment by December 20, 2024.

These changes aim to ensure the continued safety of soft infant and toddler carriers by updating to the latest ASTM standard.
