USA - Perchloroethylene (PCE) and Carbon Tetrachloride (CTC); Regulation under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA); Compliance Date Extensions

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized a rule extending certain compliance deadlines under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) risk-management regulations for perchloroethylene (PCE) and carbon tetrachloride (CTC).
The extension aligns key Workplace Chemical Protection Program (WCPP) compliance dates for non-federal entities with those already applicable to federal agencies and contractors, including deadlines for exposure monitoring, exposure controls, regulated areas, worker training, and respiratory protection programs.
The final rule took effect on July 28, 2026, with major compliance deadlines extended to June 21, 2027, September 20, 2027, and, for certain PCE exposure control requirements, December 20, 2027.
