USA - Certificates of Compliance; Correction
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in consultation with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), issued a final rule (notified as G/TBT/N/USA/820/Add.2) revising the regulation for Certificates of Compliance (certificates).
The original rule included two "effective dates" based on how products were manufactured or imported, but a technical correction was made to align with the Office of the Federal Register's requirement for one "effective date."
Under this correction:
- The final rule now has one effective date (July 8, 2026) and two ""applicability dates"" based on manufacturing or importation details.
- This change does not substantively alter the compliance deadlines for affected products.
