USA - California Enacts Ingredient Disclosure and Labelling Requirements for Children’s Diapers
California Assembly Bill AB 1901 was signed into law by the Governor on September 28, 2026, which requires ingredient lists to be displayed on children's diaper packaging and disclosed on the manufacturer's website.
By January 1, 2029: Manufacturers must publish a list of intentionally added diaper ingredients on a dedicated website page (or product-details page).
The list must include ingredients by weight, chemical/raw-material name, CAS number, and their purpose/function.
By January 1, 2029: Diapers manufactured or distributed in California must display the website address and ingredient list on the outer packaging.
By July 1, 2029: This packaging requirement also applies to all diapers sold in California.
The Department of Toxic Substances Control may enforce the requirements.
Non-compliant children’s diapers may not be manufactured, distributed, or sold in California.
