Ukraine - Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 2374 "On Approval of the Requirements for Materials and Articles Made of Regenerated Cellulose Film Intended for Contact with Foodstuffs" of December 29

Ukraine notifies the adoption of the Order of the Ministry of Health No. 2374 "On approval of the Requirements for materials and articles made of regenerated cellulose film intended for contact with foodstuffs" of December 29, 2022 that establishes the requirements for materials and articles made of regenerated cellulose film intended for contact with food.

The requirements apply to regenerated cellulose film which is intended to come into contact with foodstuffs or which does come into such contact and:

- constitutes a finished product in itself; or
- forms part of a finished product that contains other materials.

The requirements do not apply to synthetic casings made from regenerated cellulose.

With the adoption of the Order Ukraine implements norms specified by the Commission Directive 2007/42/EC of June 29, 2007 relating to materials and articles made of regenerated cellulose film intended to come into contact with foodstuffs.

Proposed date of adoption: December 29, 2022. The Order was registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on January 13, 2023.

Proposed date of publication: February 7, 2023

Proposed date of entry into force: Six months from date of publication, and/or February 7, 2023. The Order will become fully effective from November 19, 2025.
