UK - Notice of Regulated Products Reform Notification of Changes Made by The Food and Feed (Regulated Products) (Amendment, Revocation, Consequential and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2025
Here’s the revised text in U.S. English with corrections made to the misspelled words:
The UK Food Safety Authorities are notifying members of the intention to bring into force legislation that:
- Removes requirements for the periodic renewal of authorizations for food or feed produced from, consisting of, or containing GMOs, feed additives, and smoke flavorings; and
- Allows authorizations to come into effect following ministerial decisions in England, Wales, and Scotland, and then be published in an official public register or list maintained by the FSA and FSS, rather than being prescribed by statutory instrument.
These changes apply to the food and feed regulated product regulatory regimes covering feed additives; food additives, enzymes, and flavorings; food contact materials (FCMs); food or feed containing, consisting of, or produced from GMOs; novel foods; and smoke flavorings.
The United Kingdom is signposting members to the regulated products authorization lists where the authorized feed additives, food additives, enzymes, flavorings, food contact materials, GMOs, novel foods, and smoke flavorings accepted for use in Great Britain are contained.
The lists can be found here: Regulated products authorization lists.
Any lists/registers not currently available will be published prior to the entry into force.
Any relevant future authorization decisions will be notified as required.
