UK - Notice of Publication 0143/26 on References to Standards in Support of Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011

The UK Department for Business Innovation Science and Trade issued notice of publication 0143/26 on Oct 22, 2026 regarding designated standards pursuant to Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 (S.I. 2011/1881) in relation to England and Wales and Scotland.​ Summary as below: 

Annex I Part 1 - amended Annex I to Notice 0131/26:

Replaced  row 4 by EN 71-4:2020+A1:2025 Safety of toys – Part 4: Experimental sets for chemistry and related activities

Added rows 12 & 13:

- EN 71-15: 2025 Safety of toys – Part 15: Formamide in foam toy materials (content)

- EN 71-16:2025 Safety of toys – Part 16 Certain chlorinated phosphorus flame retardants (TCEP, TCPP, TDCP) in toy materials ​

Annex I Part 2 - List of references of standards designated for the Toys (Safety) Regulation​s 2011 (S.I.2011/1881)

Annex II Part 1 - EN 71-4:2020 is added to Part of Annex II and will continue to confer a presumption of conformity with the corresponding essential requirements until March 14 ​, 2028.

Annex II Part 2 - List of references to standards due to be removed from publication.
