UK - Consultation: Expanding Access to the 6 GHz Band
The UK communications regulator, Ofcom, has opened a public consultation on broadening access to the upper 6 GHz band (6425–7125 MHz). Ofcom reaffirmed the following positions:
- Lower 160 MHz segment (6425–6585 MHz): priority use for Wi-Fi
- Upper 540 MHz segment (6585–7125 MHz): priority use for IMT. In addition to use under Automatic Frequency Coordination (AFC), this segment may also be made available for Wi-Fi applications during the initial phase.
