Turkey (MIT) - Draft on Ecodesign Requirements for Electric Motors and Variable Speed Drives

​On April 8, 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology released the draft of requirements for electric motors and variable speed drives. Among the many applications, it is also applicable for motor designed specifically for the traction of electric vehicles.

This regulation is based on Commission Regulation No 2019/1781/EU on ecodesign requirements for electric motors and variable speed drives pursuant to Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, repealing Commission Regulation (EC) No 640/2009 in the framework of alignment with the European Union legislation.

Entry into force from July 1, 2021
