Taiwan - Proposed Amendments to Inspection Requirements for Power Supply Equipment and IT products

​The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), has proposed amendments to inspection requirements for power supply equipment and information technology products, covering EV charging equipment, battery chargers, UPS systems, and various power adapters. Key revisions include the introduction of type-approved batch inspection schemes, updated CNS safety standards, enhanced cybersecurity requirements, and revised RoHS labeling obligations. Existing IEC or previous-version test reports may be converted through supplementary difference testing to facilitate regulatory transition.
