Taiwan - Amendments to the Legal Inspection Requirements for Fixed Luminaires for General Indoor Lighting and 3 Other Luminaires

The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI), under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), has revised inspection requirements for lighting products, expanding the scope to include motion-sensor lamps and camping lights. Updated requirements cover fixed and portable luminaires, string lights, and altar lamps, incorporating revised CNS safety standards, blue-light hazard assessments, LED driver requirements, lithium battery safety testing, and RoHS labeling obligations. Additional performance requirements for reading lamps, including flicker and illuminance controls, have also been introduced to enhance product safety and quality.​hanged.​
