Taiwan - New Prohibition on the Usage of Certain Organotin Compounds

​​​The Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) of Taiwan released a notification on February 20, restricting the usage of 10 organotin compounds in biocides, antifouling paints and antifouling system, effective immediately.​ They are:

​- tributyltin oxide

- triphenyltin hydroxide

- tributyltin acetate

- tributyltin bromide

- tributyltin chloride

- tributyltin fluoride

- tributyltin hydride

- triphenyltin bromide

- triphenyltin acetate and 

- triphenyltin chloride​

The suppliers of the above chemicals are given 6 to 18 months transition period for the new requirements.
