Switzerland - Draft Revision of the Ordinance on Energy Efficiency

​On September 17, 2026, the Swiss Federal Office of Energy​ notified WTO about the draft revision on the Energy Efficiency Ordinance. 

As part of the present revision of the Energy Efficiency Ordinance of November 1, 2017 (EnEV; SR 730.02), adaptations to EU law are being made. Energy efficiency  requirements are adapted to EU law in Annexes 1.18 (Local Space Heaters) and 2.2 (external power supplies). The existing exception to EU law in Annex 2.14 is being partially revised and tightened. Commercial deep fryers are now required to automatically lower the temperature when not in use.
