South Korea - Proposed Partial Amendment to the Enforcement Rules of the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances

The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment announced a proposed partial amendment to the Enforcement Rules of the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances.

The amendment introduces a temporary special measure allowing certain test data required for chemical registration to be replaced with a test plan when there is, or may be, a serious disruption in the import or supply of chemicals from overseas.

The measure applies to chemicals for which the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy requests special treatment in consultation with the Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment, and is intended to support stable domestic manufacturing while maintaining the data management system needed to ensure chemical safety.
