South Korea - Proposed Partial Amendment to the Enforcement Rules of the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances

​The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment announced a re-legislative notice for a partial amendment to the Enforcement Rules of the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances, reflecting amendments to the parent Act promulgated on November 11, 2025 and effective from May 12, 2026.

The proposal specifies procedures for dispute mediation related to joint submission and joint use of chemical registration data, including application documents, evidence requirements, requests for additional materials, and a 30-day period for parties to accept or reject a mediation proposal.

It also establishes procedures for deferring or extending submission of registration data requiring the owner’s consent, and introduces a reporting process for succession of duties when the representative appointed by an overseas manufacturer or producer is changed.
