South Korea - Propose a Partial Amendment to the Enforcement Rules of the Special Act on the Safety of Children's Products

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy  issued Announcement No. 2025-426 on June 10, 2025, to propose a partial amendment to the enforcement rules of the Special Act on the Safety of Children's Products.

The amendment proposes adding non-sleep inclined cradles to the list of children's products requiring safety verification (Appendix 2 of the Act).
Inclined cradles are currently managed as infant beds under Appendix 2, but they are deemed inappropriate for infant sleep use.
By separating inclined cradles from infant beds and renaming them as non-sleep inclined cradles, the amendment aims to clarify usage purposes and prevent safety accidents.
The proposed changes aim to enhance child safety by reducing accidents caused by product misuses.
