South Korea - Notice of Partial Revision of Regulations on Certification and Investigation of Automobiles and Automobile Parts

​South Korea Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) has announced the Notice of Partial Revision of Regulations on Certification and Investigation of Automobiles and Automobile Parts.

In accordance with the revision of the Enforcement Rules of the Motor Vehicle Management Act, which requires the inclusion of information such as the manufacturer, type, and primary materials of traction battery cells in the motor vehicle specification sheet, this amendment establishes detailed methods for recording such information.
​Additionally, based on the deliberation results of our ministry's Proactive Administration Committee pursuant to Article 11 of the「Proactive Administration Operating Regulations」, it seeks to clearly define the application dates of the ‘Motor Vehicle Safety Standards’ for each of the following: vehicles from large-scale manufacturers and imported vehicles that undergo self-certification without technical reviews or safety inspections, as well as imported vehicles that do undergo technical reviews and safety inspections before self-certification.
