South Korea - MFDS Notice No. 2026-009 Administrative Notice of Partial Revision of the "Standards and Specifications for Utensils, Containers, and Packaging"

​The proposed amendment to the "Standards and Specifications for Utensils, Containers, and Packaging" aims to enhance consistency and clarity in the application of standards and specifications. 

Key changes include the addition of definitions for terms and improvements to the structure of provisions, clarification of regulations prohibiting the use of diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) and diethylhexyl adipate (DEHA) in certain materials like polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and the establishment of new criteria for recognizing recycled polypropylene (PP) materials that are not exposed to non-food contaminants, thereby expanding the use of safe recycled materials.​
