South Korea - Amendment to the Operational Guidelines for Safety Management of Electrical and Household Products
The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) announced a proposed amendment to the Operational Guidelines for Safety Management of Electrical and Household Products.
Reassess safety management categories based on risk evaluation, administrative actions/recalls, and manufacturing/usage environments.
Reclassify certain products from safety certification to safety confirmation:
- Electric vacuum cleaners
- Electric washing machines and spin dryers
- Microwave ovens (using frequencies between 300 MHz and 30 GHz)
- Electric dryers
- Electric devices for toilets
