South Korea - Amendment of the Regulation on Energy Efficiency Management Equipment

​South Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced the amendment of the Regulation on Energy Efficiency Management Equipment

The main changes proposed are:

1. Adjustment of standards for energy efficiency: refrigerators, air conditioners, window-sets, television sets

2. Indication of standards for medium- and long-term target energy efficiency: refrigerators, air conditioners, television sets

3. Any manufacturer or importer of air conditioners shall indicate the Cooling  Seasonal Performance Factor (CSPF) on the energy efficiency labeling

Proposed date of adoption: To be determined

Proposed date of entry into force:

- Refrigerators, air conditioners, window-sets : October 1, 2021
- Television sets : January 1, 2022

Final date for comments : October 19, 2020
