South Korea - Amendment Notification for Safety Standards of Household Products Subject to Safety Verification Appendix 22 (Digital Door Locks)

​​Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) announces Amendment Notification for Safety Standards of Household Products Subject to Safety Verification Appendix 22 (Digital Door Locks).

​Purpose of Amendment To allow the use of secondary batteries as a power source for digital door locks.

Details of Amendment :

- Allow the use of secondary batteries as a power source. 

- Addition of test methods for products using secondary batteries (no change in test methods for products using existing batteries). 

- Addition of labeling requirements for products using secondary batteries. 

- Update of relevant standards.

This notification will come into effect three months after the date of announcement  (May 6, 2025).​
