Singapore - Amendments to the Energy Conservation (Regulated Goods and Registered Suppliers) Regulations and Energy Conservation (Prescribed Regulated Goods) Order under the Energy Conservation Act (ECA)

​Singapore's Mandatory Energy Labelling Scheme (MELS) and Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), implemented in 2008 and 2011 respectively, are policy measures to raise the average energy efficiency of regulated goods used by Singapore households. In line with this objective, the following measures will be introduced​:

- Extend MEPS and MELS to portable air-conditioners from April 1, 2024;
- Revise MEPS and MELS for regulated lamps and extend these requirements to more lamp types from April 1, 2024;
- Extend MEPS and standby power requirements to televisions from April 1, 2025;
- Revise MEPS for split-type air-conditioners from April 1, 2025;
- Revise MEPS for refrigerators from April 1, 2025; and
- Revise test standards applicable for new and renewal registrations in line with latest editions of international standards from January 1, 2024.
