Niger - ARCEP Arrete No.000010/MCP/EN/SG/DL on Radio Equipment Approval

​In February 2025, Niger Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Post (ARCEP) published Arrette No. 000010/MCP/EN/SG/DL on radio equipment approval.

Key points are as follow: 

Equipment approval

All terminal equipment imported or manufactured in the national territory intended for sale on the Nigerien market, as well as any radio equipment intended or not intended to be connected to an electronic communications network open to the public, is subject to prior approval by the Regulatory Authority.​


Exemption from Approval

- Portable equipment used solely for the reception of sound broadcasting programs;

- Equipment for the purposes of national defense and public safety


​Certificate Validity

The approval certificate is valid for a period of three (3) years from the date of issue. This period ensures that the equipment continues to meet the essential requirements throughout its use.


Certificate Renewal

The approval certificate may be renewed at the applicant's request, provided that the equipment complies with the essential requirements.​


The Arrette enters into force upon publication on Niger Official Journal.
