Mexico - Draft NOM for vehicle identification numbers NOM-001-SEGOB2-2018

​This Official Mexican Standard draft adopts the international provisions and mechanisms in terms of vehicle identification, in order to establish a number that identifies the vehicles in national territory, both vehicles of national manufacture and import.

Its engraving and installation will facilitate the operations to find illicit, as well as its determination will serve to have an element that allows obtaining the essential characteristics of the vehicle, the which make possible their full identification. It will also be useful to increase the accuracy and efficiency of warranty service.
