Mexico - Draft Mexican Official Standard PROY-NOM-035-ENER-2024: Energy Efficiency of Unit-type Air Conditioners. Limits, Test Methods and Labelling
The notified draft Mexican Official Standard PROY-NOM-035-ENER-2024 establishes the minimum energy efficiency levels, test method, marking requirements and conformity assessment procedure.
It applies to self-contained "unit-type" ("package-unit") air conditioners, with nominal cooling capacities of between 19,050 W (65,000 BTU/h) and 70,340 W (240,000 BTU/h), with or without reverse cycle, air-cooled, powered by electricity and operated by mechanical compression, equipped with a one-speed (fixed G/TBT/N/MEX/542- 2 -capacity) compressor, a variable frequency or refrigerant flow (proportionally controlled capacity) compressor or a multistage (staged capacity) compressor and an air-cooled evaporator coil, which are imported into or manufactured or marketed within the United Mexican States.
The following are excluded from the scope of this draft Mexican Official Standard:
- Split-type central air conditioners.
- Water- or evaporative-cooled air conditioners.
