Mexico - CCNNPURRE Approves Three New Energy Efficiency Standards in Mexico

The National Consultative Committee for Standardization for the Preservation and Rational Use of Energy Resources (CCNNPURRE) approved three new Mexican Official Standards (NOMs) aimed at improving energy efficiency. 

Approved Standards

- NOM-016-ENER-2025: Energy efficiency of three-phase AC squirrel-cage induction motors with nominal power ranging from 0.746 kW to 373 kW.

- NOM-035-ENER-2025: Energy efficiency for unitary air conditioners.

- NOM-036-ENER/SE-2025: Thermal efficiency and safety standards for wood-burning stoves.

​It was agreed to request its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).​
