Mercosur - Technical Regulation GMC/RES. Nº 62/18 on Textiles Product Labeling

​Recently the Technical Regulation on Textiles Product Labeling MERCOSUR/GMC/RES. Nº 62/18 was approved. This shall repeal Resolution GMC Nº 33/07. This Technical Regulation shall be implemented in the MERCOSUR countries before 15th June, 2019.

The mandatory labeling information for textile products include:

a) Name or business name or registered trademark in the
country of consumption and tax identification of the national manufacturer or importer.
b) Country of origin, preceded by the words: "Hecho en" or "Fabricado en" [meaning "Made in" or "Manufactured in"], or “Industria” [meaning "Industry"] followed by the country of origin.
c) Name of textile fibers and their content expressed in percentage by mass.
d) Care instruction.
e) Size or dimension, where appropriate.
