Mauritania - Decision N° 100/2025/ARE/CNR Concerning Emission Thresholds, Range and Frequency Bands Used by Low-power, Short-range Devices

​​​The Decision N° 100/2025/ARE/CNR outlines the regulatory framework established by the Autorité de Régulation of Mauritania regarding the emission thresholds, frequency bands, and operational conditions for low-power and short-range devices.

Certain Internal networks and devices exclusively composed of low-power and short-range equipment are exempted from individual licensing or general authorization requirements, as per Article 28 of Law No. 2013-025.
Conditions for Exemption:
  • Devices must operate on a non-interference and non-protected basis.
  • They must not cause harmful interference to other duly authorized radio communication services or systems.
  • Devices must not exceed the emission power limits specified in Annex 1.
  • Devices must not use power amplification equipment to access public domains.
  • Devices must not connect to radio local area networks (RLANs) belonging to legally unrelated entities.
All low-power and short-range devices must comply with the technical specifications outlined in Decision No. 42/2021/AR/CNR of May 19, 2021, which governs the approval of terminal equipment, radio installations, and activities of installers. 

Vendors of low-power and short-range devices must ensure that the devices they sell comply with the requirements of the decision, as well as to inform customers about the installation and usage conditions specified in the decision.

The Autorité de Régulation has the right to conduct inspections of low-power and short-range devices at any time to verify compliance with the general conditions outlined in the decision.​​
This Decision went into effect since October 22, 2025.​​
