Indonesia - Draft Regulation on Food Contact Materials and Packaging
Recently the Indonesian National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) issued a draft Regulation on food contacting materials and packaging covering the following materials:
- plastic
- rubber and elastomers
- paper and paperboard
- ceramic
- glass
- metals and alloys
- multilayer
The production and distribution of these food contacting articles and packaging shall show compliance accordingly to this Regulation no later than 12 months after it is being promulgated. Once the draft Regulation is approved, Regulation No. 20 of 2019 on Food Packaging will be repealed.
