India - Standard Update IS 1293 for Plugs and Socket-Outlets

Bureau of India Standards developed a new version of the standard IS 1293:2019, with the aim to replace the old version of the standard IS 1293: 2005 for Plugs and Socket-Outlets for household and similar purposes of rated voltage upto and including 250 V and rated current upto and including 16 A.

The last date of concurrent running of IS 1293: 2005 and IS 1293 : 2019 has now been extended up to October 23, 2022.

After October 23, 2022, the old version standard IS 1293: 2005 is no longer valid.
