India - Guidelines for Implementation of IS 16102 (Part 1):2026 Self-Ballasted LED Lamps
The Bureau of Indian Standards recently published Guidelines for implementation of IS 16102 (Part 1):2026 Self-Ballasted LED Lamps.
Refer to the corresponding clauses in the Guidelines on:
Clause A - For existing licensees
Clause B - For new applicants
Clause C - for change in scope of licence
Changes in IS 16102 (Part 1): 2026:
- Rated input power of lamps has been covered up to 60W.
- Test requirements for photo biological safety have been added.
- LED lamps with non-removable rechargeable batteries have been covered.
- Test requirements of abnormal operating conditions have been added.
- Test requirements for ingress protection have been added.
- New marking requirement added for lamps with bulbs not suitable for water contact.
- New marking requirement for photo biological safety marking.
- Test requirements for axial strength of Edison caps have been added.
- Test requirements for fault conditions have been modified.
