India - Draft Hallmarking of Gold Jewellery and Gold Artefacts Order 2019

​This draft Hallmarking of Gold Jewelery and Gold Artefacts Order 2019, stipulates the compulsory selling of precious metals articles of gold (gold jewelery and gold artefacts) through certified sales outlets and with Hallmark.

Such gold jewelery and gold artefacts notified to be marked with hallmark as per order S.O.2421(E) dated June 14, 2018, shall be sold only by Registered Jewellers through certified sales outlets, after fulfilling conditions for precious metals articles of gold namely gold jewelery and gold artefacts as specified in Bureau of Indian Standards (Hallmarking) Regulations 2018.
They shall conform to IS 1417:2016 - Gold and Gold Alloys, Jewellery/Artefacts, Fineness and Marking - Specification.
