India - Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises (Department of Heavy Industry) - Automobile Wheel Rims (Quality Control)

​On May 25, 2020, the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises (Department of Heavy Industry) published the Automobile Wheel Rims (Quality Control) Order for 2020.

This order is certified and enforced by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) through the following standards:

IS: 16192 (Part 1): Automotive Vehicles — Wheel Rims for Two and Three, Wheeled Vehicles, Part 1 Light Alloy Wheel Rims — Method of Tests and Requirements.

IS. 16192 (Part 2): Automotive Vehicles — Wheel Rims for Two and Three Wheeled Vehicles, Part 2 Sheet Metal Wheel Rims — Method of Tests and Requirements.

IS. 16192 (Part 3): Automotive Vehicles — Wheel Rims for Two and Three Wheeled Vehicles, Part 3 Spoke Wheel Rims — Method of Tests and Requirements.

IS: 9436: Performance Requirements and Methods of Tests for Wheels for Passenger Cars.

IS: 9438: Performance Requirements and Methods of Tests for Wheels/ Rims for Trucks and Buses.

Final date for comments: 30 days from notification

Proposed date of adoption: 1 October 2020
Proposed date of entry into force: Come into force with effect from on the date of its publication in the official Gazette.
