Germany - Updating of Test Program for Kitchen Scissors (EK5/AK2 PA80-2.1.8:02/19)

EK5/AK2 updated the test program for Haushaltsscheren / Kitchen Scissors. 

Actual: PA80-2.1.8:02/19

Predecessor: PA80-2.1.8:10/17

Involved product: Scissors for household use. No paper scissors acc. to DIN 6488, pruning shears, dressmaker shears, etc.

The main changes compared to the previous edition(s) are as follows:

1. The update of the test principle edition 10/17 was based on the edition 03/07. However, a revision has already been carried out with edition 10/14, in which a chemical test according to the German Food and Feed Act (LFGB) and EU 1935/2004 was included under section 5. This section has therefore inadvertently been omitted again and is now included again with issue 02/19.

2. Hardness requirement in Abs. 4.1 is changed:

from: Hardness of the blades min. 52 HRC or 50 HRC for stainless steel blades. Blades through-hardened.

to: Hardness of the blades min. 52 HRC. Blades through-hardened.

Validity of PA80-2.1.8:02/19 as of 1 May 2019 with implementation category C (Implementation after max. 3 months, old certificates cancel within 5 years).

In parallel the TÜV Rheinland test program 2PfG 2533 was accordingly archived.
