European Union (EC) - Draft Commission Implementing Regulation Amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/683

​On January 08, 2022, the European Commission issued the Draft Commission Implementing Regulation amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/683 by introducing and updating, in the templates for the information document, approval certificate and certificate of conformity in paper format, the entries as regards vehicle safety systems, and adjusting the numbering system for the approval certificates.

The templates for the information document, contained in Annexes I and II to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/683, need to be modified to include the information relevant for the approval of vehicles fitted with systems mandated by Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 and the implementing and delegated regulations adopted pursuant to it. The respective information has also to be reflected in the templates for the type-approval certificate and the certificate of conformity in paper format. In addition, the numbering system for the type-approval certificates, as laid down in Annex IV to Regulation (EU) 2020/683, has to be adjusted.
