Europe | ECHA adds 2 new substances to the Candidate List (253 SVHC)

​The SVHC candidate list was updated on February 4, 2026, with the addition of two new substances and now contains 253 entries.

n-hexane (CAS 110-54-3)
Reason for proposing:
Specific target organ toxicity after repeated exposure, (Article 57(f) - human health)
Uses: 
-  Formulation, polymer processing, coatings and cleaning agent
-  Solvent
-  Component in glues, varnishes, and consumer products like gasoline
-  Cleaning agent in various industries, including textiles, furniture, and printing.

4,4'-[2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(trifluoromethyl)ethylidene]diphenol and its salts (Bisphenol AF)
Reason for proposing:
Toxic for reproduction (Article 57c)
Uses:
-  Reactive process regulator in polymer materials and in rubber production
-  Crosslinking agent
-  Monomer for polyimides, polyamides, polyesters, polycarbonate copolymers and other specialty polymers
-  Vulcanizing agents
